Communicating without words

Our communication ecosystem can tell a story of all the ways we use verbal and nonverbal communication to talk to each other. Everyone’s communication ecosystem is unique to them.

There are a lot of societal narratives that tell us the meaning of non-verbal’s is universal.

While there may be similarities from person to person, no one person's non-verbal’s are exactly the same.

And they’re constantly changing, growing, adjusting, even moment-to-moment.

For example, someone's laugh might not always mean something is funny.

Laughter can also express flirtatious energy, delight, discomfort, or resonance, amongst other things!

We are constantly communicating without words. As we get attuned to and curious about our own non-verbals, we can understand more holistically what our bodies are trying to communicate to us.

When we get attuned and curious about our and other’s non-verbals and what they mean, we can more directly communicate when words may not give the whole story. When we better understand non-verbals, the easier we can communicate authentically with each other.

Get curious about your non-verbals, when they show up and how they feel in your body. Get curious about other's non-verbals, when they show up and how they feel in their body.

What are some of your favorite ways to communicate with out words?
